Pamper Your Pet II

Understanding the Costs of Pet Grooming

Pet grooming is a necessary service that can make your pet look and feel their best. Regular grooming is vital for a happy and healthy life. If you're worried about cost, we understand. At Pamper Your Pet II, we'll provide a consultation and estimate before we start. Learn about our pricing practices below. If you still have questions, call us now!

  • Average Grooming Costs

It is hard to provide estimates for pet grooming because there are so many variables that affect the price. Small pet grooming typically ranges from $62 to $79. Large pet grooming may cost between $89 and $180.

In addition to size, there are other factors that influence your cost. This includes haircut style, pet temperament, and coat type or condition. A dog that gets groomed every four to six weeks and is in good condition won't require as much prep work. This prep work takes time and increases the cost.

  • Size Considerations

The size of your dog is not the same thing as the breed. Mixed breeds and designer breeds have a lot of size variations. The bottom line is that the larger the dog, the longer the job. It's worth noting that extra small dogs can also take additional time if our big clippers can't safely trim the armpits or paw pads.

  • Understanding the Coat

The condition and type of your pet's coat will affect the price. Short-haired dogs are cheaper to groom because they only need brushing. Dogs that shed a lot will cost more because it takes more time to handle their coats. If your dog is consistently groomed, the cost will be cheaper. Consistent grooming eliminates pesky knots in the fur. If we have to pre-shave or de-mat knots on long-haired dogs, there will be additional charges.

  • Temperamental Factors

We love all pets, but some pets are better suited for grooming. When we talk about temperament, we're not talking just about aggression. Poor temperaments can include shyness, nervousness, exaltedness, playfulness, and more. We won't know your pet's full temperament until we've started grooming.

  • Price Estimates

After talking to you and meeting your pet, we will provide a price estimate. However, this is just an estimate. The cost may vary once we get started. You can lower your grooming costs with regular appointments every four to eight weeks. Bath and brush appointments are ideal between full grooms. For the best results, keep brushing your pet at home.
